UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT
Pfeiffer's Hardware is an independent hardware store located in the heart of Washington, DC. Long time owners Adriana DiFranco and Todd Pfeiffer completed the sale of their store to Katie Swanson and Phil Lepanto. You can read Todd's letter to his customers and friends below.
Phil and Katie want to continue what Todd and Adriana built: to provide useful products and services to the community, as well as a place that you can stop by to meet friends and neighbors.

Dear Mount Pleasant,
After 6 and a half years of serving your hardware needs, I have the pleasure of announcing there will be another Mount Pleasant family serving those needs as of midnight tonight.
It is true. Old Man Pfeiffer is selling the hardware store today. The new owners, Phil Lepanto and his wife, Katie Swanson, will pick up where we left off and continue our tradition of service while improving upon what we have built. It took some time for us to find buyers that we thought would be just the right fit.
Phil and Katie are both long-time residents of Lamont Street (a hammer's throw from the store) and have been loyal Pfeiffer's customers for as long as the store has been open. Most importantly for me, they are both committed to preserving the special relationship the community has with the store. Adriana and I both are confident that the two of them will be great for the store and great for our neighborhood. I cannot imagine a better transition.
From the bottom of our hearts, Adriana and I would like to say thank you to everyone, for your patronage of course, but most importantly for the personal relationship you have made with me, my family, my staff, and my store. I have never in my life felt a part of something as wonderful, educational, friendly and vibrant as the community of Mount Pleasant and, dare say, probably never will again.
I will be in the store tomorrow morning at 8am until about noon to chat with anyone who wants to say hello or meet the new owners. I will be back officially for the grand opening in the future and unofficially periodically - but just as Todd. Old Man Pfeiffer is retiring today.
Thanks for doing your part to make Pfeiffer's Hardware what it is today.
Much love,
-Just Todd
...and Adriana, and Henry and Loretta
